Kids Summer Programs

The last day of school is fast approaching...and if you are like me I am actively looking for things to keep my kids busy!!!!
I hope to be spending lots of time at the pool..but we will definately finding other activites to keep us moving!
Here is a short list of activities (mostly free and low cost) to help keep the kids busy!

Michaels Passport Program
This is a great program at Michaels for kids who love arts and crafts. Some of the classes require you purchase the materials, but most are free!

Kids Bowl Free
This is a great program...and Bowl-O-Rama has just been added as a location! The only thing you have to pay for is to rent the shoes.

Blue Star Family (for military families)
As a military family I wanted to add this for any other military families. This program allows the families to gain free access to many local museums (including the Please Touch Museum).

Weavers Orchard Storytime and Cooking Classes
This is great for all age groups. The storytime talks about local produce and then after their is a cooking class using the local produce. There is a $5 fee per child.

Berks Heritage Center Kids Summer Program
This is new to me this year...but after looking at the schedule I am excited all there is to offer!! There are plays, movies in the park, science programs and much more!

Kids Movie Program
My girls loved seeing all the movies, and for $1 it is great way to start the day!!

Exeter Community Library
Once again, the library is offering some exciting and educational programs for kids and their families! Be sure to stop by the library to sign up for some of the programs!

If you and your family have any other ideas for the summer, please be sure to comment!! I will also add more as I come across them!

Now off to enjoy my last few days before school lets out!!!

The weekend is almost here!!

This should have felt like a quick week, and yet it felt like it went on forever! The best thing about this weekend is going to be the weather! I plan on sending the girls out to ride their new bikes and scooters.
If you are looking for somewhere to take the kids for free check out these two ideas:
Home Depot will be holding their monthly workshop this Saturday. The kids will be making a Savings Shed!
The Harrisburg Farm show also starts tomorrow! There will be plenty for the kids to do and the best part is admission is FREE! Parking is $10...check out the website for more info http://www.farmshow.state.pa.us/
Enjoy your weekend...and if anyone has any other ideas please let me know!
P.S.  For those couponers out there...I heard there are 6 coupon inserts in the paper! Anyone interested in learning to coupon and how to organize your coupons...let me know!

Long winter days!!!!

It has been way too long since I have posted, but here goes!  As we settle into winter I have found that I have to be more and more creative to keep the kids busy! Recently we took them to the Movie Tavern in Collegeville! What a fun time...and the prices are even a little cheaper than a traditional movie theatre. Check out this site http://www.movietavern.com/.
I will post some ideas for this weekend...since the weather promises to be warmer! Hope everyone had a great holiday! If you have any ideas...please let me know!
