The last day of school is fast approaching...and if you are like me I am actively looking for things to keep my kids busy!!!!
I hope to be spending lots of time at the pool..but we will definately finding other activites to keep us moving!
Here is a short list of activities (mostly free and low cost) to help keep the kids busy!
Michaels Passport Program
This is a great program at Michaels for kids who love arts and crafts. Some of the classes require you purchase the materials, but most are free!
Kids Bowl Free
This is a great program...and Bowl-O-Rama has just been added as a location! The only thing you have to pay for is to rent the shoes.
Blue Star Family (for military families)
As a military family I wanted to add this for any other military families. This program allows the families to gain free access to many local museums (including the Please Touch Museum).
Weavers Orchard Storytime and Cooking Classes
This is great for all age groups. The storytime talks about local produce and then after their is a cooking class using the local produce. There is a $5 fee per child.
Berks Heritage Center Kids Summer Program
This is new to me this year...but after looking at the schedule I am excited all there is to offer!! There are plays, movies in the park, science programs and much more!
Kids Movie Program
My girls loved seeing all the movies, and for $1 it is great way to start the day!!
Exeter Community Library
Once again, the library is offering some exciting and educational programs for kids and their families! Be sure to stop by the library to sign up for some of the programs!
If you and your family have any other ideas for the summer, please be sure to comment!! I will also add more as I come across them!
Now off to enjoy my last few days before school lets out!!!

Enjoy your weekend...and if anyone has any other ideas please let me know!
P.S. For those couponers out there...I heard there are 6 coupon inserts in the paper! Anyone interested in learning to coupon and how to organize your coupons...let me know!

Long winter days!!!!
It has been way too long since I have posted, but here goes! As we settle into winter I have found that I have to be more and more creative to keep the kids busy! Recently we took them to the Movie Tavern in Collegeville! What a fun time...and the prices are even a little cheaper than a traditional movie theatre. Check out this site http://www.movietavern.com/.
I will post some ideas for this weekend...since the weather promises to be warmer! Hope everyone had a great holiday! If you have any ideas...please let me know!

I'm Back!!!
I know it has been a long time since I have posted anything, but now that summer is here there are some amazing activites for kids!!!
The first I love is the playground program in Alsace and Exeter Townships!! The program runs Monday through Friday from 9am until 2pm. The cost is $8 a week or $45 for the summer!! I love the weekly option to pay $8 and choose the weeks you would like to go. On Fridays, they usually have field trips for the kids to go on and are an additional charge. http://www.exetertownship.com/ and click on Parks and Recreation.
I signed my girls up for every library program that Exeter Library has to offer! The girls are having a wonderful time (and learning as well). Tomorrow night we have a multicultural potluck dinner and the girls are looking forward to trying some new foods. On Friday they have a great make and take for all ages and we spent nearly an hour there on Friday!! Be sure to call the library and make sure there is no registration required! http://www.berks.lib.pa.us/
We also love the free movie program running at the IMAX in Reading! They run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10am. This week they are playing Shrek Forever After and next week is Barnyard : The Original Party Animals. http://www.rctheatres.com/ and scroll to the bottom and click on The Family Theatre.
My final tip for the night is to sign up all the kids for free bowling!!! You will recieve weekly coupons to print out and the only thing you have to pay for are shoes. My girls and I loved using this on really hot days and rainy days! http://www.kidsbowlfree.com/
Check back daily for more summer tips to help keep the kids busy!!
Coupon tip for the day:
Giant Food Stores has a great GM cereal deal this week! Buy 4 GM cereals and use your coupons for each box. You will automatically get $6 off at check out and a coupon for a free gallon of milk!!! This is the time to stock up on cereal!! Let me know if you have any questions!!
Thank you for keeping with me and I cant wait to hear all of your ideas for keeping your kids busy this summer!!!
